What is The
Gateway Cup?
The Gateway Cup is a new annual sporting and business event bringing together senior Irish and American leaders for a unique day of competition, networking and relationship building.
Hosted in Dublin as part of the wider Ireland–Gateway to Europe programme, the event celebrates the deep cultural and economic ties between Ireland and the United States through a Ryder Cup-style golf competition and hospitality experience.
The first Gateway Cup took place on 1 September 2016 at Woodbrook Golf Club, County Wicklow — the beginning of a vision to unite Irish and American leaders through sport. Ten years on, that vision is back, formalised and permanent. The 2026 edition at Elm Park marks both a milestone and a new chapter.
